China srrc certification application process

What is SRRC certification?

SRRC is a Chinese wireless certificate issued by the State Radio Regulatory Commission.

After the product passes the test, the SRRC will issue a type approval certificate and assign a CMIIT number to the model.

Basic information of SRRC certificate:

Mandatory certificate for wireless products sold in China

Testing must be conducted in a Chinese accredited laboratory

The certificate is valid for 5 years (can be extended)

No factory inspection required

No local representative required

Which products require SRRC certificate?

SRRC is a mandatory certification for wireless products sold and used in China.

Equipment and appliances with radio transmission functions such as WLAN, Bluetooth, Zigbee, GSM, WCDMA, LTE, radar, and broadcast must apply for SRRC type certification.

Radio communication equipment, public mobile communication equipment, special network equipment, satellite equipment, 2.4GHz/5GHz wireless equipment, low-power devices SRD

The scope of SRRC does not include ISM equipment, medical equipment, electric transportation systems, high-voltage power lines, and other electrical appliances that emit electromagnetic waves.

Short-range micropower devices are now exempt from SRRC. Wireless products such as remote controls and car radars no longer require SRRC certificates.

Module approval applies to SRRC. The final product using the approved module may be exempt from some testing if the module is self-contained. Please see Module SRRC Approval for more information. If you would like to determine if your final product is SRRC acceptable for module certification, please contact us.

srrc certification process

1. Check that all SRRC requirements and parameters of your product are met. If some of them diverge, they will need to be redesigned promptly to eliminate possible non-compliance and rejections when regulators issue certificates.

2. Prepare and submit the SRRC application.

3. Pass rigorous compliance testing at one of the nationally recognized laboratories.

4. Prepare all necessary documentation, including test protocols, and submit them to regulatory agencies for consideration.

5. SRRC reviews the application, test reports and other supporting documents and makes a decision on product access to the market.

6. Obtain the certificate and paste the CMIIT ID on the product or packaging.

7. The Regulatory Committee will not only compare the parameters determined during the testing process with the SRRC standards, but also compare the compliance of the actual data with the data declared in the application. If there are discrepancies between this information, the certification process will be interrupted and the document will be returned for resubmission.

Information required for srrc certification

1: Technical instructions and user manual of the equipment model;

2: Circuit diagram and block diagram of the device under test.

3: The photo should include the sample being inspected:

① Overall photo; ② Front photo; ③ Side photo (including emission port, interface, etc.); ④ Back photo (including emission port, interface, etc.);

⑤ Photo of the internal circuit board of the equipment under inspection.

⑥ The nameplate of the equipment under inspection should clearly show the equipment model, full name of the applicant (equipment manufacturer), equipment serial number, approval code CMIIT ID and structural dimensions.
